I'm Lorraine, a fully qualified counsellor & Registered Member British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP)
I have experience of providing counselling within various settings
My experience so far has led me to work with clients who have had a wide range of issues e.g. Depression, anxiety, stress, addictions, abuse, loss & grief, bereavement, low self-esteem, dyslexia-related issues, etc.
I can offer both short term up to 6-12 weeks and long term 12 weeks or more counselling.
Sometimes it can feel like life's events are starting to weigh you down and you feel like you could do with a helping hand. One of the first steps you can take to lighten your load and start looking after yourself and your wellbeing is to enter into counselling, which from personal experience can feel like a daunting first step to take.
Let me reassure you within counselling I will provide a professional, warm, reflective therapeutic relationship in a safe, non-judgmental and confidential environment, which will allow you to go at your own pace while you discover more about yourself.
I have an integrative; multi-model approach, which includes Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA), Humanistic/Person-Centred Therapy, which I tailor to your individual needs. Please take a look on About Me page, where you can find a short explanation of these approaches.
Each individual has their own path to follow and a different view of what is happening around them, which at times may feel rather unsettling and confusing. My aim is to focus on you and understand your issues from your perspective which will enable me to gain a sense of awareness of your needs and how your issues are impacting on your life. Within my work, I specialise in individual counselling and offer a high level of professionalism and understanding. I will help guide you on your journey in finding a new or different sense of being, allowing you to make your own choices, without giving you advice or expressing my opinions.
